I think social media in classrooms is a good idea. It is something students can relate to very easily. For example students can start their own blog. By blogging, the students will learn multiple writing skills, which will only be a privilege for them in the classrooms. It will also help them to interact with people from all over the world and share ideas from assignments ect. Students can also create groups with al the people in their class, where important information can be shared and where students can form study groups.
Social media like Facebook and Twitter can be used to improve communication between students and teachers, where questions can be asked and answered. Where tips can be given. As well as important dates and reminders. With technology developing all the time, the learners will later find it 'boring' to study in the plain inviroment learners are no longer use to. Using technology it inhanses the learners ability to see, hear and interpret. That is just a few reasons I think technology must be used in the classroom.

How teaching practice change my idea of how I see myself as a teacher.
On the first day of teaching practise, I was ready to give up. Maybe it was the School or environment. I don't know! All I knew was I didn't wanted to be there at all. The first week went by and I felt like I didn't belong at all. But as I got used to the school environment and the teachers as well as the learners, I started to like it more and more.
The one thing that definitely changed my whole perspective is I had a talk with a few of the girls in one of the Grade 9 classes. So as I asked them, what subjects they were going to take the following year. Where they simply answered, we leaving school at the end of this year. So I tried to figure out why they wanted to leave school. Reasons being, they don't like homework, they don't like learning, and they would much rather go work. I was in shock, cause who on earth gave these children the idea that its okay to leave school in Grade 9. I stood by them and motivated them to stay in school and that they shouldn't settle with just Grade 9 to their name, that is ridiculous. And that my fellow bloggers is the very first time I saw myself an actual teacher.

How do I see myself as a teacher?
To be brutally honest I don't see myself as a teacher quite yet. But I do know I will eventually. In fact I'm not a teacher at the moment, I'm still learning to be one. I hope ill be a good teacher. I know ill be a good teacher. Ill give it my all every time, and whatever obstacles may come my way ill do my best to overcome it. obstacles is needed to make one a stronger person. In my case a better teacher.
Why I chose teaching & Characteritics of a "good teacher"
The reason I chose teaching at first, wasn't because of passion. I chose it because I was thinking about security. That all changed. I have a whole different perspective of teaching. It is so much more than just security. Its about changing the lives of other peoples children and sometimes without any form of thank you. Those children will be in your class for one year and you will have such an big impact on their lives that will last years and years to come.
The characteristics of a good teacher must be the following: Honesty, respectfulness, a good teacher loves what they doing and put 110% in every time. It should be a privileged do what they do.
"I didn't choose teaching, teaching chose me".

Introduction
Hello everybody! Firstly I would like to tell you a little about myself. I'm 20 years old. I'm a first year, education student at CPUT Wellington. I love it here. I major in three subjects: Mathematical Literacy, Computer Application Studies and Business Studies. When I first started at CPUT, I had no idea what I was doing here. Everything was so unfamiliar to me. Soon I got used to everything, made new friends, that I will cherish for a lifetime. There is also a lot of challenges, but I choose to take it day by day and to not let those challenges be my downfall. ENJOY!
